Dr. Burrowes completed medical school at the University of the West Indies. Following his medical internship and three years of General Surgery at the Princess Margaret Hospital, he specialized in Neurosurgery, completing the post graduate programme in 2017.
Dr. Burrowes completed extensive neurosurgery training at:
(i) Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, Jamaica
(ii) the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston Jamaica and
(iii) the Royal Melbourne Hospital Department of Neurosurgery in Melbourne, Australia.
Additionally, he enhanced his expertise in spine surgery after completing an Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at the Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Burrowes is also an international member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
In February, 2022, Dr. Burrowes joined the Princess Margaret Hospital's team, where he serves as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and provides expert care to both adult and paediatric patients, with brain and spine disorders.
